21.08.12 - Hillview TrailWe have two upcoming working bees at the Hillview trail, organised by Mark Jessup.
The trail was a huge success at the schools championships, though needs a little work to get it back up to scractch for the spring/summer months.
If you're free to lend a hand on either of the next two Saturdays, your help would be appreciated.

20.06.12 - DSC Trail
On July 22nd RHR are hosting the third round of the Victorian Schools Cycling Championships MTB series. The venue is at Dromana Secondary College, and trail building has been ongoing for the past few months. We are getting the capping crushed rock delivered this week and require as many hands as possible to help get the track finished before the event. Each Saturday from 10:00am we are holding working bees at the school; all are welcome to help out - bring your kids too! To join in on the fun, meet at Dromana Secondary College - enter off Harrisons road at the first gate. Keep an eye on the forums and our Facebook Page for more information.
21.05.12 - RHR New Zealand Trip

03.03.12 - News and Events
It's been a big couple of months!
Red Hill Riders are proud to announce that we have a few new champions in the club:
- Ellie Wale is now the U/17 XCO National Champion, Liam Jeffries is the U/15 XCO National Champ, Luke Fetch and Jess Wiggan both put in massive efforts
to put themselves in the top 5 of their categories.
- We also had a large number of entrants into the Otways Oddysey. Ellie Wale, Liam Jeffries, and Jack Steele all won their categories with Jack Gardner and Denise Wale getting a podium too.
Johnny Horrox has drawn our attention to a Music Festival held at the Briars on March 18th in support of road safety. The event is called Crossy's Gig, more info can be found by clicking the flyer above.
Earlier in the year the club received a grant from Park Victoria to go towards trail building tools. The club now has an arsenal of tools at our disposal which we will be able to use on the new trail that Adrian Wale is building in the Dromana Secondary School grounds for the Victorian Schools Cyclling Championships (Eastern Zone). We thank Parks Vic very much for their generosity.
06.01.12 - Round 1 Victorian State XC Series - Ellie Wale
Check out the RHR forums for a great race report from Ellie from the Wimmera Hills Winery, Elmhurt race.
"I kept turning my head worried at who I was going to see. I was about 1km from the finish line riding along a firetail when I looked around and saw absolutely no one."
Congratulations to all the RHR riders who competed in what sounds like a gruelling race!

09.07.11 - Parking and News
It's been a while since updates, but that's not to say that little has been happening at RHR HQ.
Red Hill Consolidated School have been kind enough to allow us the use of their car park on Arthurs Seat Road. We have had troubles in the past with the lack of parking on Flinders Rd (opposite the shops), with the shop keepers expressing their concern that there are few parks left for other customers. We now have the solution and ask that on Sunday rides, please park in the "upper" carpark at RHCS (shown in red in the image below)
In other news, the trails team have been very busy in mapping the myriad trails that we use, talking to Parks Victoria, meeting with the council, and other local interest groups. With their hard work, we should see some trails opening up sooner, rather than later.
30.01.11 - Peninsula Mountain Bike Proposal
The trail development team have done some brilliant work and created the attached document. The idea is to begin with a broad plan such as the one attached to get the council and other relevant parties notified, and then to fill in the details and increase the resolution of the plan as we get more information. Click on the Front Cover to download the document.
23.01.11 - Blazing Saddles Results
Yesterdays event went off without a hitch. Thanks to all who made the effort to get out there and race on such a beautiful day. A big thankyou to all the volunteers that made the day possible as well as all the sponsors who made both the race, and the fund raising possible. The turn out was amazing and the fund raising was a big success. We will announce the final figure of funds raised and donated as soon as they become available.
